Dr. Cartwright completed his undergraduate study at Ohio University and earned his Masters and Ph.D. in School Psychology from The Ohio State University.

As a post-doctoral fellow in the Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, he was trained as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and Clinical Psychologist providing evaluations and therapy for children and adolescents. As a Post Doctoral Fellow he provided therapy and a variety of clinical evaluations to children and adolescents with mood and anxiety related disorders such as Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety, and School Refusal. In addition, he was part of the Autism clinic and conducted psychoeducational and psychological evaluations specializing in the diagnoses of Autism, Asperger's Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Learning Disabilities, and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
Dr. Cartwright is also a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology and completed his APA accredited Doctoral Internship in the Fort Worth Independent School District. There he was trained in School Based Multi Factored Evaluations, IEP planning, group and individual therapy, crisis intervention, and consultation.
